Welcome to the course “Elements of Electromagnetic Field Theory and Guided Waves”!
This is the title of the course S-26.2900 of the International Master’s Programme in Radio Science and Engineering of Aalto University. It is an 8-credit course and the total grade of a student is determined by 50% from the final exams, by 40% from the problem set assignments (each problem is marked seperately) and by 10% from the physical presence and active participation in the amphitheater.
The course is comprised of a series of theory lectures delivered by Prof. Ari Sihvola (Tuesdays, 8.15-10.00 AM, classroom E111) and a series of exercise lectures delivered by Dr. Costas Valagiannopoulos (Wednesdays, 8.15-10.00 AM, classroom E111). The grading of the problem sets would be mainly done by cDr. Tommi Rimpiläinen.
The basic sections of the course are given below:
Section A: Electrostatic Fields
Section B: Laplace Equation
Section C: Magnetostatic Fields
Section D: Maxwell’s Equations
Section E: Plane Waves
Section F: Waves & Inpedances in Transmission Lines
Section G: Simple Waveguides
Have a fruitful navigation within both the website and the course!
